Career
Peter Schallauer studied Telematik (with an emphasis on computer science - image analysis) at the Graz University of Technology and finished his studies in 1997 at the Institute for Computer Graphics and Vision with the diploma thesis "Digital Image Sequence Restoration". Since 1995 he has been working at the Institute of Information Systems in the digital media area on novel solutions for digital film restoration, for automatic video analysis, -description and mining, for efficient digitization of audiovisual archives, for semantic video analysis, for events detection and summarization in surveillance videos and for automatic video quality analysis. In course of this the digital film restoration software DIAMANT and the video based wrong way driver detection software GeMon has been created. Additional to these research and study activities he pays special attention to cross project and cross domain research coordination. |
