Best Paper Award
Best Paper Award für „Authoring Interactive Mobile Services Using MPEG-7 and MPEG-4 LASeR”
For their paper „Authoring Interactive Mobile Services Using MPEG-7 and MPEG-4 LASeR”, Albert Hofmann, Andreas Kriechbaum and Werner Bailer from the Institute of Information Systems & Information Management have received the Best Paper Award at the 9th Workshop on Multimedia Metadata (http://coresa2009.enseeiht.fr/#workshops ).
In their work, which is a result of the recently finished porTiVity project, the authors describe a system that enables interactive TV on mobile devices by using modern standards to create, broadcast and receive the mobile interactive TV content. The interactive experience is achieved by combining two functionalities of modern mobile devices – television and internet – where users can interact with objects in a TV program and receive additional content from the web. The application on the mobile device has already been presented to a wide audience in November 2008 at the Long Night of Research at JOANNEUM RESEARCH and was tried in particular by young visitors with great enthusiasm.
The Workshop on Multimedia Metadata is the 9th Workshop of the Multimedia Metadata Community (http://www.multimedia-metadata.info/ ) and was held in conjunction with CORESA (http://coresa2009.enseeiht.fr/ ) in Toulouse. The Multimedia Metadata Community aims at bringing together experts from research and industry in the area of multimedia meta data.
