Presentation of PrestoPRIME at the Workshop on Content-Based Multimedia Indexing

The Institute of Information Systems was invited for a talk at the "7th International Workshop on Content-Based Multimedia Indexing", taking place in Crete on 5th of June 2009.
Wolfgang Halb presented the European project PrestoPRIME in the course of the Practitioner Session about "Multimedia Content Access and Europeana".

Topics in this session were the Linking Open Data (LOD) Initiative and ongoing standardising efforts around the handling of descriptions on multimedia items (W3C Media Annotations Working Group). The Institute of Information Systems is involved in both activities. Main discussion was around how to use expertise from the LOD-Initiative to increase interoperability between metadata about heterogeneous multimedia collections.
