TA2 Project Evaluation – chance to win an iPad

Members of both the IIS and AVM research groups of the Institute DIGITAL are contributing to the European research project TA2 – Together Anytime, Together Anywhere since 2008.
TA2 aims to develop and evaluate a communication platform to enhance group-to-group communication between closely related people. The aim is to make the conversations as natural as possible. Beyond a low-delay high-quality audiovisual link, a framework allows for integrating applications or games which motivate or stimulate the conversation inherently, and strengthen social ties in the long run. With a large number of camera streams available in the network, an intelligent Orchestrator software component aims to understand communication patterns, personal interests of and relationships between the participants in order to automatically select camera views on an individual level. Research on this Virtual Director component is one of TA2’s key innovations.
