W3C Video in the Web: Current Results and Future Directions

(22.08.11 13:57)

Panel at I-KNOW in Graz

Video in the Web has seen explosive growth, improving the richness of the user experience but leading to challenges in content discovery, searching, indexing and accessibility. The working groups of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Video in the Web initiative among them the Media Annotation group to which DIGITAL contributes, have recently released candidate recommendations.
The aim of the open panel is on the one hand to discuss the current results of the Media Fragments and of the Media Annotations Working Groups, and on the other hand, it is the opportunity to reason future directions and challenges ahead.

Panelists: W. Bailer (JOANNEUM RESEARCH), T. Bürger (Capgemini), Ralf Klamma (RWTH Aachen), E. Mannens (Ghent University), D. Park (Samsung), F. Stegmaier (University of Passau)
