Medical technologies

The quality of therapy measures hinges not least on the technical medical equipment and methods available to doctors. In developing these technical aids, the researchers draw on their findings from basic research to devise practical solutions that generally not only improve diagnosis and treatment options but also the patients’ quality of life. For example, the Institute has developed a measuring device for diabetic patients that facilitates or dispenses with the laborious work of dosing insulin. The team’s interdisciplinary know-how is also required when evaluating medical equipment.
