Best Poster Award at MMM2008
Award in the frame of the 14th Internationalen Multimedia Modeling Conference(MMM) in Kyoto.
Werner Bailer, Felix Lee und Georg Thallinger, Institute of Information Systems & Informations Management have received the Best Poster Award at the MMM 2008 in Japan for their paper 'Detecting and Clustering Multiple Takes of One Scene'.
The context of the work is the summarisation of raw unproduced video material (“rushes”) in order to facilitate navigation and organisation in audiovisual media post-production. Typically, each scene of a movie or TV production is shot several times, thus creating up to 30 times more material than is used in the final product.
The paper proposes a novel approach for identifying multiple complete or partial takes of a scene by their visual properties and clusters them into scenes. Thus the redundancy of the material can be reduced and more efficient summarisation is possible.
