Claudia Wagner from the Institute DIGITAL has received the best student paper award for her paper "Exploring the Wisdom of the Tweets: Towards Knowledge Acquisition from Social Awareness Streams" at the 7th Extended Semantic Web Conference.
The Phd Symposion offers PhD students the possibility to present their PhD research and get feedback from senior researchers working in the field of Semantic Web.
Claudia Wagner presented beside her PhD work, which is supervised by Klaus Tochtermann and Markus Strohmaier from the Knowledge Management Institute at Graz University of Technology, also results of the project SemCom, which is a project funded by JOANNEUM RESEARCH. The aim of the SemCom project is to enable communities to share information across individual platform boundaries by exploiting semantic technologies.
