Rene Kaiser presents results from FascinatE

At the beginning of the year the 18th International Conference on MultiMedia Modeling took place in Klagenfurt, Austria. The DIGITAL - Institute for Information and Communication Technologies presented research results from different projects. A Special Session on 'Interactive and Immersive Entertainment and Communication' was co-organized by the FascinatE and TA2 projects. Further a software demo on person detection and tracking in sports content was presented. The TOSCA-MP project coordinated by DIGITAL has co-organised the Video Browser Showdown, an interactive video search competition. DIGITAL has also participated with a video browsing tool developed in the 2020 3D Media project.
The MMM's best paper award was sponsored by the FascinatE project. The winner, Kong-Wah Wan was awarded for the paper "Topic Based Query Suggestions for Video Search",  (co-authors: Kong-Wah Wan, Ah-Hwee Tan, Joo-Hwee Lim and Liang-Tien Chia, http://www.springerlink.com/content/j74n4388784vj121/).
