PrestoPRIME - EU funded project
First public presentation of PrestoPRIME in the course of a press conference
On March 24th 2009 the European funded project PrestoPRIME with participation of the Institute of Information Systems & Information Management was presented in Torino.
The project deals with preservation of audiovisual content within digitized archives. Solutions to the important problem of format obsolescence in the digital domain and ensuring proper transfer of metadata will be investigated. Furthermore problems already introduced to the content in the analogue domain will be investigated by researching methods for content based quality analysis (e.g. blocking, drop-out). The Institute of Information Systems & Information Management is active in this respect and will further enhance access to digital material with intelligent metadata solutions.
