Since its introduction, laser welding has established itself as a precise and flexible method in manufacturing technology. The complexity of problems faced is constantly increasing - as for instance in the automotive industry, where complex body parts are being increasingly welded in three dimensions. The Laser Center optimises the necessary processes in order to make them more efficient for industrial use.

Additionally, lasers are also used in coating and shaping. Using laser-assisted alloying and build-up welding, tools and parts can be made more durable, worn-out areas repaired, and prototypes produced in the shortest time.
