Production-oriented process water and waste water technology

A reduction of water consumption in production processes is required for both economic and ecological reasons. To fulfil this goal, researchers at the institute are developing new, production-oriented processes for the more efficient use and treatment of process water and waste water in industrial processes. These innovative approaches include split treatment, the recovery of valuable products and the selective removal of noxious substances from process water and waste water. Research activities include the calculation of cost-effectiveness and the development of measuring and analysis methods. The main aims of the project are a reduction in production costs and/or investment costs by the efficient use or recovery of process chemicals, the reduction in the amount of water required by the process and a considerable decrease in pollution due to waste water from production processes.
