Career
Since 1980 scientific employee at the Institute of Hydrogeology and Geothermics (JOANNEUM RESEARCH, former Forschungszentrum Graz). Researcher and project manager in the frame of numerous national and international projects and studies on water resources, hydroelectric power plants (forecasting and feasibilty studies), protection zones for water supplies, solute transport and hydrodynamics of different aquifer systems (porous, fissured and karst). Studies on environmental impact assessment and their evaluation in Austria and Brazil.
In the last years main research objectives in geohydrology, catchment hydrology, water resources management and decsion support systemsInternational Research projects and scientific consulting in Brazil, China, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia.
46 publications in national and international journals and conference proceedings, approx. 180 unpublished scientific project reports.
Teaching Activity
Since 1985 lectures on Hydrology and Hydrography at "Postgraduate Training Course on Groundwater Tracing Techniques" for scientists from developing countries, organised by UNESCO and the Republic of Austria in Graz (Austria).
1995 - 1998 Lectures "Traçeurs artificiels" at the Cycle Postgrade pour Ingénieurs Civils et Géologues "Géologie appliqué à l´ingénierie et à l´environnement", Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland). |
