Professional Career
Gernot Klammler studied Environmental System Sciences with emphasis on Geography at the University of Graz. He also attended classes at Graz University of Technology and spend one year in Spain studying at the University of Granada. In 2008 he completed his degree with an diploma thesis titled "Climatic water balance of northern Dravsko polje (Slovenia)", wich aimed to determine the spatial distribution of the groundwater recharge.
In 2009 he participated in the iSOIL EU-Project and modeled soil erosion by water on the watershed scale of the Gnasbach catchment (Styria/Austria).
Since October 2009 Gernot is employed at the Institute of Water Resources Management an works within the EU-Project GENESIS on his dissertation about the influence of land-use practices and climate change on groundwater recharge, nitrate leaching and agroeconomics. The primary objective of this dissertation is to define agricultural management strategies, which improve the quality of groundwater and preserve the present economic situation of agricultural holdings. |
