studied social sciences and economics and was appointed Head of Department at the Austrian Management Academy (ÖAF).

After working as an independent marketing consultant, he served in the Industrial Promotion Department of the City of Graz for more than seven years before being appointed personal secretary to the First Deputy Governor of Styria.

Since 1997: Administrative Director of JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH in Graz

Married to Dipl.Dolm. Mag. Karin Müller since 1987, two children.
