Career
In 1987, Jean-Philippe Andreu started his electric engineering studies (with a specialization in computer science) in Paris (France) at the E.S.I.E.E (École Supérieure d'Ingénieur en Électrotechnique et Électronique) where he graduated as Ingenieur (M.Sc. equivalent) in July 1993.
In the 1994-95 period, he worked as a software engineer for two French companies : C.G.T.I (a subsidiary company of Alcatel Inc.) and Jouve S.A. (a CDRom publishing company).
In October 1995 he started to work as a Ph. D. student at the Institute for Computer Graphics of the Technical University of Graz (Austria) in the field of Computer Vision with special interests in image understanding and object recognition.
In May 2000 he joined JOANNEUM RESEARCH's institute of digital image processing. He works since then on a joint project with Invision Inc. and a consortium of Austrian sawmills, developing image processing techniques for automatic detection of defects in computer tomography images of wooden logs. |
