Roland Perko was awarded a MSc in Technical Mathematics, branch information sciences, in 2001 by the University of Technology Graz for his master thesis "Correlation of multi-temporal remote sensing image data" and received a PhD in 2004 for his dissertation "Computer Vision For Large Format Digital Aerial Cameras". From 2006 to 2008 he was employed as a postdoc at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia where he researched on methodologies for integrating visual context with object detection.
In October 2008 he joined JOANNEUM RESEARCH's institute of Information and Communication Technologies in the field of Remote Sensiong and Geoinformation with focus on stereo matching of high resolution SAR imagery. Roland Perko has published more than 35 papers within his scope of research.
