Career

Miriam Steurer started her academic studies with a Masters degree in Economics at the Karl Franzens University Graz, Austria. She continued her studies with a Masters Degree in Economics at Washington University in St. Louis, where she was enrolled in the PhD program and completed her “prelims” and course work. For personal reasons she then went to Australia where she finished her PhD at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. In 2009 she joined the Institute for “Regional Economics” at Joanneum Research. Her main focus at Joanneum Research is the development of tools to find and analyze emerging trends.
