Im Projekt TA2 werden Technologien entwickelt, um die Kommunikation zwischen örtlich getrennten Personengruppen (Familien) auch über größere Distanzen mithilfe moderner Telekommunikation zu erleichtern und zu fördern. Dazu werden neue, kreative Formen von interaktiven, immersiven und hochqualitativen Medienanwendungen benötigt ? TA2 entwickelt dafür die darunterliegenden Plattformen und Werkzeuge.

Anhand von fünf beispielhaften Anwendungsszenarien werden diese Technologien im Detail spezifiziert und danach auch im Echtbetrieb evaluiert.

Das Institut für Informationssysteme beteiligt sich u.a. mit seinem Know-how aus dem Projekt NM2, das am Beispiel des Concept Demonstrators 'Interactively Sharing and Enriching My Videos' zum Einsatz kommt und weiterentwickelt wird. Damit wird der Bereich der Mediensemantik, im Speziellen Videosummary Darstellungen, gestärkt. Im Kern des TA2 Systems trifft eine 'Orchestration Engine', eine Art virtueller Filmregisseur, die Entscheidungen, welche audiovisuellen Inhalte dargestellt werden.

TA2 ist ein Integriertes Projekt des siebten Rahmenprogrammes und wird von der Europäischen Kommission gefördert.

The overall objective of TA2 is to enable new media experiences that are attractive and profitable, and through which people who know each other well can nurture and develop their relationships.

The technology developed for this project will be used to enable a number of prototype framing experiences that are designed to make communications and engagement between groups of people, separated in time and space, easier.

TA2 will model five media experiences through five concept demonstrators. These are enabled by improvements in a number of key developments in standards, technology, human and business understanding. The Institute of Information Systems will contribute with the knowledge learned in the NM2 project, which will be applied on example of the Concept Demonstrator 'Interactively Sharing and Enriching My Videos'. IIS will focus on the 'Orchestration Engine', an intelligent software component that acts as avirtual director, taking decisions on the transmission and presentation of audiovisual content.
