MPEG 130 - Alpbach

MPEG is a working group of ISO/ IEC with the mission to develop standards for coded representation of digital audio and video and related data. In order to accomplish its goal, MPEG holds meetings every 3 months where the MPEG professionals from all over the world can share the cutting edge solutions to MPEG. The 130th WG 11 meeting will take place will take place in Alpbach from 20 to 24 April 2020.

The meeting will be preceded by:

• The JVET meeting starting on the 15th.
• The JCT-VC meeting starting on the 18th.
• Ad hoc group meetings on the weekend (18th-19th).

MPEG group is co-chaired by JOANNEUM RESEARCH Key Researcher Werner Bailer, who also chairs the Austrian working group responsible for contributing to the ISO/IEC standards committee on Artificial Intelligence (SC42). The assessment of these technologies is expected to lead to a standard for the interoperable and compact representation of neural networks.
