First Workshop of EU project ESRIUM took place as part of the International Conference of Computer Vision Systems (ICVS)

How will the digitization of traffic infrastructure influence the future of mobility? How can digital twins of road and rail infrastructure be created and maintained? On Friday the 24.09.2021, the first Workshop of the project ESRIUM addressed these questions.

The workshop was part of the 13. Internationalen Konferenz für Computer-Vision-Systeme.

Two invited speakers, Dr. Michaela Haberler-Weber (ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG) and DI Dr. Yannik Wimmer (ASFINAG Autobahnen- und Schnellstraßen-Finanzierungs-Aktiengesellschaft), provided an overview of digitization activities on road and rail.

Over thirty participants attended a dense program of talks and virtual interaction. With a specific focus on digitization and exploitation of road damage information, the workshop addressed all relevant topics of usability and acceptance of automated vehicles, awareness of ADAS systems and the assessment of the enhancement of safety of automated driving using digital twins of traffic infrastructure.
