NIPS 2018, one of the world most prominent conferences in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, runs Monday 3rd December through Saturday 8th December at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal in Canada. The NIPS official account tweeted “The main conference sold out in 11 minutes 38 seconds.” First held in 1987, NIPS was initially an interdisciplinary meeting for researchers exploring biological and artificial neural networks, has grown into one of the world’s top AI conferences.

The Workshop on Compact Deep Neural Network Representation with Industrial Applications, co-organised by Institute DIGITAL, is scheduled as part of the conference. It aims to bring together researchers, educators, professionals who are developing their knowledge about techniques and applications of making efficient neural network representations. The focus of discussions is to converge towards a common view in this rapidly developing field, and in establishment of interacting connection between researchers in machine learning community and engineers in industry.

JOANNEUM RESEARCH invites you to submit original work in such areas as neural network compression techniques, neural network representation and exchange, video & media compression methods using DNNs such as those developed in MPEG group till 20th of Oktober.
