Subsidence and landslides are the most widespread georisks in Europe, which are also responsible for significant social and economic impacts. The project "SuLaMoSA - Subsidence and Landslide Monitoring Service Austria" was launched on June 1, 2018, supported by the FFG's ASAP-14 invitation to tender. Within this project, JOANNEUM RESEARCH as coordinator together with the partners GBA and EODC is committed to establish an Austrian monitoring service for subsidence and landslides with a strong focus on potential users.

In order to be able to collect and evaluate the user requirements systematically, an online survey was carried out in the first project phase. On 27.09.2018 the first User Requirements Workshop took place at the Geological Survey of Austria in Vienna. In total, the project team welcomed 11 participants from ministries, geological services, BEV, WLV, engineering offices to university institutions.

The results of the workshop lead to a user requirement catalog and will have a direct influence on the design of the Austrian monitoring service for subsidence and landslides. Especially through the workshop, the awareness of the potential users could be strengthened with regard to the available possibilities and limitations.
