NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC), held from March 18-21 in San Jose (USA), is the premier conference for developers, researchers and companies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning. „If GPUs are time machines, then GTC is where you come see the future,” said Jensen Huang, CEO NVIDIA. Every spring NVIDIA kicks off its annual series of GPU Technology Conferences (GTC). This year it features hundreds of sessions from leading companies and research institutions in AI. Experts from industry leaders such as Amazon, Alibaba, Google, NASA, IBM, Verizon, Volvo, PayPal, participated in the conference this year. Over 600 sessions had been held, with over 160 technical posters for more than 9,000 visitors.
Hannes Fassold, senior researcher at JOANNEUM RESEARCH - DIGITAL, gave a 50 minutes talk there about employing deep learning methods for automatic analysis of conventional video as well as 360° video. Specifically, deep learning algorithms for object detection & tracking as well as face recognition and anonymization have been presented there, as well as applications like the automatic camera path generation from a 360° video.
