JOANNEUM RESEARCH

International cooperations in Southeast Europe

JOANNEUM RESEARCH has entered into numerous cooperations with the most important research institutions in the countries of Southeast Europe.

JOANNEUM RESEARCH has worked in nearly 150 R&D projects together with partners from Southeast and Eastern Europe during the past ten years. In addition, numerous joint workshops, round-table discussions and presentations on specific focal themes have been carried out.

The regional distribution of these activities shows that the majority of cooperations are with partners from Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Russia. To some extent, they have also been carried out jointly with partners from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Macedonia, Moldavia and Albania.

A stronger positioning in the countries of Southeast Europe was achieved when a cooperation contract with the Slovenian Jožef Stefan Institute and the Croatian Ruder Boškovic Institute was signed in 2006 and 2007.
