Special attention was attracted by the new VidiCert functions for macroblocking detection, interlaced video playback without the need for SDI equipment, support for the ProRes format, and the new digitisation quality control (QC) functions.
JOANNEUM RESEARCH was pleased to welcome QC experts from many interested companies, including Helge Süß from our customer Atos IT Solutions, who is using VidiCert to QC the digitisation of 600.000 video tapes in a project for the Austrian National Television ORF.

The ICoSOLE project presented recent innovations for enhancing the capture of live events such as music festivals by providing approaches to capture panoramic and user generated content. Visitors are enabled to send live streams from their mobile devices and receive real-time feedback about the video quality. Clips are either fed in a real-time mixing engine or are presented on a “Wall of Moments”, which can be viewed on a large screen on-site or on the web. The event can also be interactively experienced using a Smart TV application, exploring the different content streams, delivered using MPEG DASH.
