The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) is a non-for-profit organisation established in June 2016. ECSO represents an industry-led contractual counterpart to the European Commission for the implementation of the Cyber Security contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP). ECSO members include a wide variety of stakeholders such as large companies, SMEs and Start-ups, research centres, universities, clusters and association as well as European Member State’s local, regional and national administrations, countries part of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and H2020 associated countries.

The European Commission will invest 450 Mio Euro in Cyber Security over the next 4 years until 2020. It is estimated that Cyber security market players represented in the ECSO will invest three times more. A considerable share of that money will be allocated to research and innovation.

Christian Derler has been nominated by DIGITAL for the ECSO working group 6 which is responsible for working out the European Cyber Security Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). The brokerage event organised by ECSO for its members on November, 4th in Brussels was a good opportunity to present several project ideas and discuss them with potential partners.
