Commitment to energy communities
BRIDGE is an initiative of the European Commission, which bundles more than 30 Horizon 2020 projects from the research fields of smart grids and renewable energies. Selected topics based on the project results will be discussed with project partners and representatives of the EU Commission. In the last 12 months, the LIFE Institute of the JOANNEUM RESEARCH has contributed in particular to the working groups on Consumer and Citzen Engagement and Local Energy Communities.
Our experts' contribution
Sebastian Seebauer presented evaluation concepts to assess organisational development and market entry of citizens' groups. Andreas Türk presented design options, definition of local grid tariffs and incentive mechanisms to implement Energy Communities.
Through its involvement in this initiative, the LIFE Institute has cutting-edge knowledge that is also made available to Austrian stakeholders.
