Climate Services offer customized information that helps individuals and organizations in climate-sensitive sectors to make climate-friendly decisions with regard to adaptation, mitigation and risk reduction. Two events on current developments in Climate Services took place on 13 November and from November, 13th to November 14th in Paris and Tervuren/Brussels. LIFE contributed to both.

Invited to the innovation camp "Climate Sprint: Accelerating Climate Solutions" in Paris, Andrea Damm presented an overview existing and emerging Climate Services for the operation and maintenance of ski resorts. These include PROSNOW®, a forecasting system for snow management in ski resorts currently being developed in an H2020 project led by Météo France, or WEDDA®, LIFE's forecasting and analysis system, which supports ski resorts and other companies in dealing with their weather and climate risks.

At the same time, Judith Köberl provided insights into the market for Climate Services in the Austrian tourism sector at the conference "Making Climate Services a Reality in Europe" in Tervuren/Brussels. In the session on mobility moderated by Franz Prettenthaler, Director of LIFE, she also presented a tool to support climate-resilient bicycle traffic planning, which was developed by LIFE together with Bike Citizens, VITO and KU Leuven within the H2020 project Climate-fit.city.
