Research Network Green Tech Research Styria

1.200 Styrian researchers speak a common language: "Green Tech Research Styria"

This research network, inaugurated in 2012 by the former Styrian Minister of Research Kristina Edlinger-Ploder, is a partnership between JOANNEUM RESEARCH, the Karl-Franzens-University Graz, the University of Leoben, the Technical University of Graz, Green Tech Cluster Styria GmbH, the Federation of Styrian Industries, and the Styrian Chamber of Commerce. These institutions combine their expertise in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and resource efficiency and coordinate their R&D activities, jointly initiate projects, educational programs and other partner activities to help this thematically distinct Styrian organization climb to the top of international research and development.

These institutions work on the various thematic areas that make up their shared focus “Smart Living”. The network provides information about and services for intelligent buildings, green mobility, decentralized energy and power, materials / recycling / resources as well as climate change. These themes are the building blocks that the partners have identified as forming an important foundation for the acceleration and development of strong Styrian research. Although technology-focused, the research is increasingly oriented toward practical applications. Through the Research Network Green Tech Research Styria, the research areas where partners have demonstrated a leading competence are combined, networks are formed and new competences are developed. It is important that Research Network Green Tech Research Styria maintains its unmistakably Styrian dialect.

The activities of the research network are strongly supported by public representatives acting in areas of policy and planning.
