Sectoral Systems and Technological Competitiveness

The recent global developments with their associated shifts of value chains and the international division of labor have compelled companies, regions and countries that participate in international competition to build targeted profiles and position themselves strategically. Sector-specific growth conditions and value chains must be carefully considered. The identification of global value relationships represents an important foundation for evidence-based policy, which goes beyond the limits of traditional sector analysis.

The skills that have been developed by members of the research group Technology, Innovation and Policy Consulting are used to assess international and technological competitiveness of economies, during the development of clusters and the design of thematically focused policy strategies.
