Project Content

agROBOfood is an EU-funded project that aims to establish a European ecosystem for the effective use of robotic technologies in the agricultural and food sector. The aim is to support digital transformation to make the European agrifood sector more efficient and competitive. At the heart of the project are innovation experiments organized and monitored by Digital Innovation Hubs. In 7 regional clusters, first innovation experiments with the use of robotic technologies in the agrifood sector will be carried out, which should ensure reproducibility and broad acceptance throughout Europe.

In addition, the Digital Innovation Hubs support companies on their way to digitalization by connecting the different stakeholders in robotics, agriculture, R&D and business through the agROBOfood network. The network already comprises 49 Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) and 12 competence centers and will be continuously expanded and strengthened during the course of the project. Furthermore, two "Open Calls" (2020 and 2021) are planned within the project to generate further innovation experiments - a total of 8 million Euros will be made available for participating SMEs.
