This year, we are participating with the cross-institutional DurAIcell project<\/a>. The project, developed jointly by experts from the DIGITAL<\/a>, LIFE <\/a>and MATERIALS<\/a> aims to advance the development of a multi-sensory monitoring system for electric vehicle battery modules. It combines traditional sensors with printed pressure and temperature sensors on flexible films that are integrated directly into the battery module.<\/p>\n This innovative sensor concept enables high-resolution analysis down to the level of individual battery cells. This allows the state of charge and the \u2018health\u2019 of the battery to be determined precisely and potential damage to be detected at an early stage. The improved state determination also enables more efficient use of the available capacity, making smaller, lighter and more cost-effective batteries with the same performance possible.
