General Manager of the Association “Microfluidics Innovation Hub”
In course of the H2020 Open Innovation Test Bed project “NextGen-Microfluidics”, coordinated by JOANNEUM RESEARCH, a "Microfluidics Innovation Hub" (MIH) will be permanently and sustainably established as an association. The MIH will offer its customers a single entry point to a wide range of existing cutting edge microfluidic technologies from Europe’s top research centres and companies, covering the entire value chain to accelerate the demonstration of exciting new scientific breakthroughs towards a working prototype, and beyond into mass manufacturing.
On behalf of the MIH we are currently seeking an experienced and creative
General Manager of the Association
“Microfluidics Innovation Hub”
in a full-time employment to lead and scale-up the MIH, located in Weiz, Austria.
In this position, you will be responsible for issues related to the national and international research market, business development, and business operations. Your main responsibility will be:
- Development of the Microfluidics Innovation Hub association as a single entry point based on a business plan, establishment of an international network of customers, and communication with stakeholders of the MIH.
- Establishing the services of the MIH in cooperation with its stakeholders.
- Managing the financial performance of the association
- Managing the quality concept of the MIH in a regulated environment (esp. ISO 13485)
Minimum requirement is a Master degree in economics (business management, marketing & sales, or related fields), paired with a sound technical education and understanding, or vice versa, a technical university degree (biomedical, electrical or mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry or related fields) paired with a sound economic education and knowledge. Preferably you have proven work experience as a business development manager, sales manager or related position, ideally, but not necessarily with background in (bio)medical technologies. Work experience in national and international research projects would be as advantageous. Excellent spoken and written command of German and English is obligatory. The willingness to travel internationally (mainly Europe) is required.

The minimum yearly gross salary is € 60,000.00, based on full-time employment. Depending on your qualifications and experience, a higher remuneration is possible.
