The 2020 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2020) is the flagship international conference in robotics and intelligent systems. It is co-sponsored by the IEEE, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), the Society of Instruments and Control Engineers (SICE), and the New Technology Foundation (NTF). IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 400,000 members in 160 countries. It is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others.
The conference will include plenary and keynote presentations, technical sessions, workshops and tutorials, forums, challenges and exhibitions. Due to the COVID-19 situation the final format of the conference, e.g. live/in-person, virtual, hybrid etc. will be announced no later than early September 2020.
As part of the conference program, Dr. Stephan Mühlbacher-Karrer from ROBOTICS is main organizer of the 3rd Workshop on Proximity Perception in Robotics: Towards Mulit-Modal Cognition.
