- Review of antibiotic prophylaxis and provision of erythrocyte concentrate.
- Check respiratory tracts and aspiration risk.
Team time-out
- Patient identification.
- Information about the type of operation.
- Examination of the surgical site, patient positioning, warnings, antibiotic prophylaxis.
- Special features and equipment.
- Necessity of imaging procedures.
Sign-out
- Checking surgical textiles/tamponades for completeness.
- Instruments, labelling of samples.
- Postoperative instructions from the surgeon or anaesthetist.
