An afternoon full of inputs
Christian Tauber (NEOALP GmbH) opened the afternoon with an insight into the world of physical AI and showed how adaptive robots open up new opportunities, but also raise new security issues. Michael Pravits (AUVA) illustrated in his presentation “Colleagues made of steel” how important clear safety concepts and trained employees are for human-robot collaboration.
Michael Rathmair (JOANNEUM RESEARCH ROBOTICS) provided an outlook on the upcoming revision of ISO 10218 and emphasized that standards should be understood as paving the way for innovation. Clara Wiederschwinger-Fischer (JOANNEUM RESEARCH) presented the project SAFEIVERSE, which shows how robotics can also promote inclusion—for example, by safely integrating people with disabilities into production processes. Kevin Fischer (EED-Automation GmbH), which demonstrated in a specific use case how safety solutions are implemented in real manufacturing environments.
The participants were then given a tour of the laboratory, where they were able to experience the latest robot systems and safety mechanisms live and learn about the research results of JOANNEUM RESEARCH ROBOITCS.
The event provided an ideal platform for exchange and networking. It impressively demonstrated that safety is not an obstacle to innovation—but rather its foundation.
The event is part of the series “Working together for digital safety in production” – an initiative of the Industry 4.0 platform and the Austrian Workers' Compensation Board (AUVA).
