The Commander of the Austrian Air Force, Air Chief Major General Mag. phil. Gerfried Promberger, MSS, and the Director of Armament of the Austrian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General MMag. Harald Vodosek, provided insights into current procurement projects aimed at strengthening capabilities in the areas of drone detection and defence. Interesting insights into current developments in the use of drones in the Ukraine war were provided by Colonel dG Dr. Markus Reisner, PhD.
The research group Intelligent Acoustic Solutions presented its developments in acoustic drone detection and localisation to a broad specialist audience. The group has built up extensive expertise in recent years through several research projects in the FORTE and KIRAS programmes. Currently, both stationary acoustic sensors and mobile systems that can be operated while travelling on military vehicles are available.
The high relevance of these technologies was reflected in the numerous technical discussions held at the exhibition stand during the symposium.
