On 21 May 2025, the research group teamIntelligent Acoustic Solutions at DIGITAL took part in the ASFINAG Innovation Safari, where we presented our current research project VAMM – Development of innovative noise protection elements with vibroacoustic metamaterials to a wide audience of experts, innovation managers and infrastructure managers. In an R&D innovation partnership with ASFINAG, we are developing a new generation of noise barriers based on acoustic metamaterials, which we are testing under real conditions on the motorway.
The all-day event was dedicated to future technologies and innovative solutions for tomorrow's mobility. Amidst interactive workshops, tech talks and the ASFINAG Inno-Award, we had the opportunity to present our project at our own stand. Our project met with great interest. Many visitors learned about the potential of VAMM for targeted noise reduction in traffic noise, the use of sustainable materials and the planned implementation at real motorway locations. The aspects of 100% recyclability and CO₂ reduction in production were particularly well received.
