As part of a routine inspection of the AKUT system in the Gorla Tunnel in Italy, AKUT was presented to a large group of experts from various tunnel operators and motorway concessionaires from Italy. The presentation was hosted by the motorway operator Autostrada Pedemontana Lombarda directly inside the Gorla Tunnel.
Among the participants were representatives from Autostrade per l’Italia, Autostrada del Brennero and Sinergo S.p.A.
A key focus of the presentation was the live demonstration of the AKUT system in real-time operation. Several situations were simulated inside the tunnel to demonstrate AKUT’s fast and reliable incident detection under realistic conditions.
The representatives of the motorway operators in attendance were impressed by the system’s functionality and its rapid response in detecting safety-relevant events. The live demonstration provided a practical insight into AKUT’s performance and highlighted the added value of acoustic incident detection for safe tunnel operation.
Following this successful presentation, further discussions on potential cooperation will take place in the coming weeks together with our Italian distribution partner Triveneto Servizi.
