Industry as a Military Target: Nation-State Cyber Operations and the Case for Secure by Design, Steven Phillips | Nortal

Nation states no longer treat industrial infrastructure as collateral. Energy grids, steel production, and manufacturing supply chains are now deliberate military targets, degraded in peacetime to shape conflict before it starts. Drawing on twenty years across UK defence and government, I examine how state actors conduct pre-positioning operations against industry and why conventional perimeter security fails against adversaries with strategic patience. The session sets out how Secure by Design, developed for defence programmes, transfers to industrial estates, and what operators and start-ups should build in now, before the regulatory and threat environment forces the issue.

AI & Cyber Security covered by the New Machinery Regulation, Matthieu Stein | TÜV SÜD

Cyber Security and AI as new technologies are now implemented into the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230. Short Introduction of selected content and relevant chapters within the Machinery Regulation. Involvement of Notified Bodies during conformity assessment procedures. Possible standards for application and required technical documentation.

Cybersecurity & AI Regulations: From Compliance to Competitive Advantage, Stefan Ellmauthaler | Echo Intelligence

NIS2, CRA, AI Act, GDPR: new regulations introduce compliance challenges, but also strategic opportunities for proactive companies. This session outlines key mandatory requirements and demonstrates how organisations can transform regulatory obligations into enhanced cybersecurity and streamlined processes. Takeaways include: immediate action points, efficient preparation methods, and ways to utilise these frameworks for long-term security benefits.
