History
Our company has a long and successful track record. Its forerunners were set up in the 1960s, and the current limited liability company was established in 1986. Supported by some of Austria’s brightest minds, we have achieved a series of milestones and scientific successes founded on our agility and innovative approaches. We perform research on topics that will shape the future.

- 500 employees the number of staff passes the 500 mark for the first time in the company’s history
- Major expansion in research capacity in Klagenfurt: The Digital Twin Lab opens in Carinthia in February 2023

- The new JOANNEUM RESEARCH Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics (ROBOTICS) research facility opens at the Lakeside Science & Technology Park in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee; it also houses the ROBOTICS Evaluation Lab.

- Founding: The Cooperative Centre for Regenerative Medicine, or COREMED, is founded.

- Die Anfänge: The forerunners of JOANNEUM RESEARCH were set up in the 1960s. The current limited liability company was founded in 1986.
