Connected Computing
Silvia Russegger is Deputy Director at the DIGITAL Institute and Deputy Head of the Connected Computing research group. A mathematician, she has been working at JOANNEUM RESEARCH for many years in the field of information and media networking in complex, networked application environments based on new software architectures and technologies. From 2021 to 2025, Russegger headed the ‘Connected Computing’ research group and became increasingly involved in ‘human-centred software solutions’ in the areas of ‘digital culture’ and ‘digital care’. As part of the team, she wants to make it possible for people with disabilities to live without limitations. This should result in technologies that act like ‘butlers’: unobtrusive, always available, inclusive.
JOANNEUM RESEARCH provides innovation and technology services in the field of applied research. As a research company working on behalf of various federal provinces and regions in Austria, our expertise shapes the development of our modern society and economy – sustainably, and always with a focus on people. As a multidisciplinary team working in a flexible set-up that fosters innovation, we always live up to the highest social and scientific standards.
