About the person

Paul Hartmann has been Director of the MATERIALS Institute since 2010. He completed his studies in technical physics at Graz University of Technology in 1991 and obtained his doctorate in 1995 from the Institute for Experimental Physics at Graz University of Technology in cooperation with AVL List Medical Instruments. After completing his studies, he worked in R&D management at AVL List Medical Instruments, Roche Diagnostics, Zumtobel LED and Tridonic. Since 2013, he has been a member of the board of Photonics Austria, the Austrian platform for light technologies. From 2018 to 2023, he was a university professor for nanomaterial technologies at Graz University of Technology.
