The course Tools and Techniques for Life Cycle Analysis of Biofuels’ was held from 27 to 31 January 2025, where Gerfried Jungmeier shared his expertise on life cycle analysis methods and their application to biofuels with Indian students.
The aim of the five-day course was to familiarise participants with the concepts and practices of life cycle analysis. Other learning objectives of the course:
- Contributions of microorganisms in biofuel production and their role in life cycle analysis
- To provide an understanding of LCA techniques with reference to the prevalent cropping systems in India and their contribution to the supply chain of biofuels
- Motivating participants to take research in areas of life cycle analysis local opportunities and concerns
‘I am happy to meet the growing global interest in environmental assessment with life cycle analysis among young people in India. The professional exchange was the seed from which cultural and social encounters with the students and lecturers at the University of Haryana campus grew during this week, which enriched and affected me personally,’ summarises Gerfried Jungmeier.
