The project
STBERNARD focuses on developing innovative technologies for mass decontamination of people, animals, and infrastructures in CBRN-E (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives) events. The project includes identifying CBRN aerosols, creating 3D scenario models, and developing an AI-driven modular tool for generating operating procedures for First Responders. Key areas include risk assessment, protection, action, mitigation, and prevention.
Our activities in the project
JOANNEUM RESEARCH's contribution to the project is the development of an AI-based modular tool for the creation of deployment procedures for first responders in CBRN-E incidents. The tool consists of two modules: a real-time module for operational support and a serious game module for training personnel. JOANNEUM RESEARCH will use the analysis of CBRN-E risks in rescue and recovery operations to ensure the effectiveness of the tool in improving the safety and efficiency of emergency services.
