Michael Ploder heads the POLICIES Institute, with offices in Vienna, Graz and Klagenfurt, which provides evidence-based foundations for political and economic decision-making. Its focus ranges from research and innovation policy, regional and industrial transformation, location and labour market analyses to gender equality policy and innovation projects. The economist (University of Graz) has many years of international experience in policy consulting, economic analysis and evaluation of support programmes and institutions on behalf of the European Commission and agencies, as well as national ministries and expert committees.
