It goes without saying that we strictly reject all forms of forced, compulsory and child labour as well as modern slavery and human trafficking.

We see the topics of sustainability and the environment as a socio-political and future-relevant responsibility, and in the ‘Environment and Sustainability’ business area we are researching sustainable solutions for a future worth living. It therefore goes without saying that our environmental management system is certified in accordance with ISO 14001. Integrated Management
Quality management in our research organisation JOANNEUM RESEARCH: We have promised to assure the quality of all our services and continuously improve them. We are fully aware of our responsibility to customers, employees, partners and proprietors.
The efficient and process oriented JOANNEUM RESEARCH quality management system complies with EN ISO 9001. This forms a foundation and framework that is used to constantly secure and continuously improve all of its activities. This obligation is upheld by each of the employees.
Furthermore JOANNEUM RESEARCH has also implemented a certified system for EN ISO 14001. That means, that our company is compliant with the requirements of this international standard by improving our environmental performance, by fulfilling legal and other obligations and by achieving environmental goals.
Additionally, if needed, further organizational units of JOANNEUM RESEARCH are also certified and accredited with relevant systems.

We are a member of various top-level national and international research networks. International activities
We are firmly embedded in the international and European research landscape. As a research and technology organisation (RTO), our scientific focus is closely aligned with the EU Missions and the related mission areas and priorities. As a result, we play a part in overcoming major challenges connected with the environment, climate, health and digitalisation. Horizon Europe, the Digital Europe Programme, the European Defence Fund, Copernicus, Galileo and the various European Space Agency (ESA) programmes provide the primary framework for our activities at the European level.
International partnerships and projects not only enhance the competitiveness of our locations, they are also a key quality factor. The positive impact of international R&D projects and our integration into the international research community make a significant contribution to achieving the required scientific and technological standards, which form the basis for developing globally competitive technologies, processes and products.
