1,200 participants from the fields of research, business, politics, industry and the start-up scene in Switzerland, three stages and an expo zone. That was Open-i, which took place in Zurich on 27 November.
Matthias Rüther, Director of the DIGITAL Institute, and Business Area Coordinator Daniele Cozzi took the opportunity to highlight the expertise of JOANNEUM RESEARCH. Together with Austrian companies and research institutions, they were represented at the WKO foreign trade stand. Austria was thus able to present itself as a strong innovation partner for Switzerland.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The main theme of this year's event was artificial intelligence. Switzerland and Austria are united in their efforts to score points in this area as resource-poor but innovation-strong locations. The opportunities for cooperation with experts from the research company, in particular the DIGITAL Institute, therefore met with great interest. ‘We made lots of valuable contacts and hope to collaborate in the future,’ reports Cozzi.
The Swiss Open-i innovation platform, organised by NZZ Connect, is one of Switzerland's largest innovation events.
