Sandra Venus becomes new Chief Financial Officer at JOANNEUM RESEARCH

At the beginning of January 2026, Sandra Venus will become the new Head of Finance & Controlling and authorised signatory at JOANNEUM RESEARCH. The experienced business economist brings with her over 25 years of professional experience in business and industry in Styria and Carinthia.

In Sandra Venus, we are winning a proven expert with many years of management experience in economic and financial management. Her expertise and strategic vision will make a valuable contribution to the further development of JOANNEUM RESEARCH.

Sandra Venus, a native of Burgenland, studied business administration in Graz and gained professional experience in Styria at the local economic development agency and the microelectronics group AT&S before devoting herself to economic development in Carinthia. She was a project manager, team leader and, for over 10 years, a member of the board of the KWF Carinthian Economic Development Fund. She is currently a consultant and coach and also serves as a supervisory board member and curator.

With her comprehensive professional expertise and many years of management experience, the succession of this strategically important leadership role is optimally secured. Renate Reinisch held this position until the end of November.

Sandra Venus, designated Chief Financial Officer of JOANNEUM RESEARCH: ‘After more than two decades in positions of responsibility at the interface between business, science and public funding, I am looking forward to contributing my experience to JOANNEUM RESEARCH. The position of Chief Financial Officer offers the opportunity to play a strategic role while also helping to strengthen the research location.’
